Hi Uniques,
First of all I would like to thank you so much for all the comments on the Blogpost about my Blogger Blues. It seems, that many of you feel exactly like me. The cold gray days press on the mood and you let yourself go. But this weekend there were finally the first warm sunrays.
I would also like to skip the Spring and already arrive in the Summer.
So I thought that a travel post would be quite a good idea, because what motivates more than vacation periods and plans?
Just over two years ago I visited Singapore and I fell in love with the city – but not only the city – no, also the hotel.
Singapore Marina Bay Sands
This hotel impresses the skyline of the city more than anything else. It is known worldwide, because on the 57th floor is the highest infinity pool of the world. Sure you can imagine how wonderful the view from up here is. If you are an early bird, you often even have the pool all by yourself. Imagine lying on one of the soft couches, watching the pool in front of you and the Singapore skyline right behind. Slowly the sun rises and plunges into a wonderfully warm light – an absolute dream!
This feeling to have the whole city with its hectic bustle in view, while you swim quite relaxed far up in the pool is breathtaking.
But not only the pool offers a great view – no already when you wake up you can see the impressive skyline. So best to ask for rooms on the higher floors.
Singapore – a city like no other
Singapore is unique in every respect. There is probably hardly a city that combines the hectic city life with lots of relaxed easygoing. Imagine, they simply close a few streets in the evening, just to open a public eating area where they barbeque Sate and tables and chairs are placed on the street. Furthermore, it is impressively clean – garbage you see almost nowhere. No city offers such a contrast of skyscrapers and greenery. However, the green areas are not on the ground – no, that would be absolutely boring. Instead, jogging trails, golf courses and parks as a link between two skyscrapers on the 60th floor are nothing unusual.
Through Western and Asian influences the city gets a very special flair – from Little India to Chinatown you can find everything here.
But now enough facts!
What to do in Singapore
Singapore is probably the Fun City par excellence! There is nothing that does not exist! There is even a small island, which was only built to have fun. On Sentosa Island there are several hotels, beaches and mountains to climb as well as Universal Studios, Madame Tussauds and a water park. A day is definitely not enough to try everything out. It would probably take at least two weeks. In Singapore you will also find the world’s only night zoo, which opens its doors only at night.
Also botanically, Singapore has a lot to offer. If you’re watching Germanys Next Topmodel, you’ve probably already recognized the hotel, maybe you remember the shoot in the Cloud Forest Dome. From the roof of Marina Bay Sands you can look down directly onto the Gardens by the Bay, which is an absolute highlight especially in the evening. While relaxing in the jacuzzi you can admire the marvelous light show of the super-trees.
After that, you can still look at the illuminated Singapore skyline when you fall asleep … and time goes by faster than expected and you have to go on.
Singapur – From dawn till dusk
Conclusion
For this cool city and the fantastic hotel it is definitely worth the long flight!
Afterwards we flew to Bali and relaxed there for 2 weeks.
Have you ever been to Singapore? What is your favorite city?
