Hi Unique,
We all want it – the perfect, white toothpaste smile from advertising. But getting bright white teeth is anything but easy with all our coffee consumption. Tooth whitening strips, bleaching and various toothpastes – all pure chemistry. For what else could it be? Finally, a visible effect is often promised even after the first application.
Believe me, I’ve already tested a lot but was never satisfied. Bleaching I have not yet dared to approach, because I am a bit afraid that it could hurt: D I am with my teeth but just a small scaredy cat. After all my attempts, I accidentally came across the Charwhite charcoal toothpaste, which works without chemicals and is even vegan. So I thought to myself, nothing can go wrong. An attempt it is definitely worth while …: D
You want white? Then take black?
Okay, I admit, that sounds crazy at first. But it is true! The run about activated charcoal has been around for a while, and particularly this summer, the miraculous activated charcoal is once again on everyone’s lips. Because honestly, what better fits a sun tanned body and beach waves than a bright white smile? 😉
But how exactly does charcoal paste work? How do you apply it best and does the whole thing really help?
Charcoal toothpaste – this is how it works
In principle, the concept behind the black toothpaste is quite simple. Due to the fine particles of charcoal, discoloration and deposits should be carefully removed. As a result, the teeth are gradually lightened. Yes, you could simply say that charcoal paste is a very gentle peeling for your teeth. This toothpaste comes completely without bleaching substances, because instead of bleaching, dirt and stain particles are simply “sucked” by the activated charcoal, literally bound. Bye, Bye chemistry and welcome nature. The “sucking in” is done simply by the fact that charcoal is very spongy and every granule offers an enormously large surface area where the dirt and stain particles stick. A granule is therefore best compared with a sponge.
Of course, there are already some charcoal toothpaste DIYs on Youtube, but I have to say, this is too delicate for me. I’d rather test a tooth paste from a professional manufacturer, such as Charwhite.
How exactly do you apply this toothpaste? Sure you are laughing now and thinking I am crazy: D Open tube of tooth paste, tooth paste on the brush and off we go. You’re right, this way it goes with a “normal” tooth paste. However, charwhite is not a paste but a powder! The best way to do this is to:
- Moisten a clean toothbrush and press the brush into the activated charcoal powder
- Remove the brush and wait a few seconds so that the charcoal absorbs the moisture and becomes creamy
- Rub your teeth in small circles for two minutes. The best way to do this is to close your mouth 😉
- Rinse your mouth thoroughly and, if necessary, brush with a regular tooth paste for another minute
- Voila, your teeth are ready;)
Best, You repeat the whole thing daily. At the beginning is enough once a day.
5 things you need to know before your first time
- Brush correctlyYes, charcoal toothpaste is actually black. : D So do not take your favorite toothbrush but another. Either you buy a new hand toothbrush or get an extra attachment for your electric toothbrush. The activated charcoal toothpaste can be washed away without problems, but let’s play it safe;)
- Stay cleanEspecially when you first open the can, you should dress rather dark and store the new, white favorite shirt safely in the closet. Brushing teeth with black activated charcoal can be different from normal white toothpaste. ;)Small tip: I usually clean for one minute with normal toothpaste afterwards, so no black residue remain 😉
- Wipe itAs you can imagine, the sink is more stressed than with a normal toothpaste. So best get black towels to dry your sink
- Be alonePerhaps you should be especially at the first application alone, because to see yourself with a completely black mouth, can be a bit creepy. Once you have got used to it, you can try to frighten your partner or the family: D
- WaitIn contrast to many other chemical whitening agents, Charwhite does not promise success after the first application. Only after a few days or weeks will you see the effect.
I will now test Charwhite’s charcoal toothpaste for several months and tell you again and again. Have you ever tested an charcoal toothpaste? If so, were you satisfied with your results?
