Spring Thomas Sabo Cake Design

Today there is again a cake tutorial. The design is simple, but spring-like.
For this you need:
  • White, red, black fondant
  • Many, many cutters
  • A ruler
  • A knife
  • Sugar Glue
This ornament just looks really nice, but is very easy to make.
First, you cover your cake as always with ganache or buttercream. As we are on the subject: Do you want a general Post how to make ganache or buttercream and how much you need for which cake size?
Now you roll the white fondant as thin as possible and cover your cake. The hardest part is already done;)
As next step roll small parts of black fondant, from which you will get the black stripes. Using a ruler and a knife you cut the strips and adhere it with sugar glue.
Finally we come to the decor. For this you just take the cookie cutter – it’s quick and easy. 😉
Most of the deco parts you need in black. Change sizes between the leaf, flower and butterfly motives  to get later on an uneven and special effect.
Some minor elements are cut out of red fondant as highlights.
Best, you let your deco harden overnight, as it can be better glued on the cake the next day!
Is the fondant hardened, you can glue free hand flowers, leaves and butterflies. I have always seen to it, to conceal the “edge”, so that there is a smooth transition from the cake sides to the top.
So that’s it;) If the spring does not come to us, we will pick him up – at least on the cake;)
How do you like the design? Do you have more cake desires?
